Teach Mindfulness to Emerging Adults

But it can be hard to inspire young adults to learn to take a mindful approach to life.

If you have ever tried to get young adults to sign up for and complete mindfulness training, then you know that inevitably there are obstacles that get in your way.

Yet, there are strategies that work, that anyone can use to create effective mindfulness programming for emerging adults.

That’s why the Center for Koru Mindfulness has decided to bring you a short course…

Teaching Mindfulness to College Students and Other Emerging Adults: An Introduction

Holly Rogers

In this program, Holly Rogers, M.D., one of the developers of Koru Mindfulness, will walk you through the ways that college-age adults get derailed from learning mindfulness…

…and how you can get them on track for developing their own mindfulness practice.

Holly will share the wisdom she has acquired from over 20 years of working with college and graduate students in a college counseling center so that you can create compelling mindfulness training programs for the young adults you serve.

You will learn practical strategies for effectively teaching mindfulness to emerging adults.

In this course, you’ll get a better understanding of the developmental stage of emerging adulthood, the stage that most college and graduate students are in. You’ll learn how to use a deeper understanding of this developmental phase to create mindfulness programming that works.

“Holly is a wonderful teacher. She perfectly combines expertise in the medical field with wisdom of mindfulness practice, making the material accessible and fun to engage with.”

Tracy George, MPH, CHES

“Having personally taught over 1,000 students to meditate, she’s tried a lot of stuff and kept what worked. No doubt about it: Holly is the guru of Koru! Her teaching style is clear, practical and open to questions. Best of all, you have the impression she’s still learning right along with you.”

The faculty at the Center for Koru Mindfulness are experts on teaching mindfulness to young adults.

Koru Mindfulness is the evidenced based mindfulness training program developed at Duke University by Dr. Rogers and her colleague, Margaret Maytan, MD.

Koru Mindfulness was designed with the developmental characteristics of the young adult age group in mind, and has been proven effective for increasing mindfulness, self-compassion, sleep, and perceived stress.

Holly and Libby Webb, LCSW founded the Center for Koru Mindfulness to train others to teach Koru to the young adults they serve. Koru is now taught across the country and around the world by certified Koru teachers and teachers-in-training in a variety of practice settings.

You can learn and utilize the same strategies that make Koru so effective.
